Sinopec to step up cooperation with Karamay
A delegation from the Sinopec Group, China’s largest oil and gas company, visited Karamay in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on July 19.
Led by Wang Yupu, president of Sinopec, the delegation inspected its subsidiaries in Karamay, the Victory Oil Field and Henan Oil Field. They also met of Karamay’s government officials and the Xinjiang Oil Field Company representatives.
Wang expressed his gratitude to Karamay for its support for the development of Sinopec’s subsidiaries. He said he hoped that the two sides would further enhance cooperation in oil exploration, production and management in a joint effort to make good use of Karamay’s rich natural resources.
Chen Xinfa, director of the Xinjiang Oil Field Company, said Sinopec’s investment in Karamay substantially contributes to local oil industry. He also promised to help improve the production and living conditions for the oil workers.
